Pursuant to the provisions of Section 610 of the Companies Act 1956 any person may inspect documents recorded/registered by the Registrars of Companies (ROCs) and obtain certified copy or extract of any such document from ROCs on payment of prescribed fee. Documents are made available to public for inspection/certified copies are issued after these are recorded/registered by concerned ROCs. Documents which are found to be correct in all respects prescribed under the Companies Act are taken on record/registered. In case documents are found defective the respective companies are requested to make necessary compliance/rectification. This information was given by the Union Minister of Law Justice and Company Affairs Shri Arun Jaitley in a written reply to a question from Shri S. Agniraj in the Rajya Sabha today.
