Dec 6, 2001 12 students were held in a ragging case in the Agricultural College in Mahandi in Kurnool District and were remanded to custody. Dec 5, 2001 Three Students of the Mahanandi Agricultural College under the ANGR Agricultural University were suspended for ragging of students of the first year. Nov 22, 2001 Tension as a Medico student commits suicide Tension prevailed at Kurnool General Hospital when a second year MBBS Student Ms Ujwala died consuming poison at college campus. She was rushed to the hospital where she died. Police and Student Union Members argued at each other as the later said that a case be filed as medico-legal case. Post Mortem was later conducted and her body was given to her parents. Nov 4, 2001 Congress Leader Mr. P Balasubba Reddy was killed in a bomb attack by five unknown persons when he was returning home on his motor cycle in Kurnool District's Mahanadi area. Oct 13, 2001 Three persons including a 8-year old boy died when the roof of their house in which they were sleeping collapsed in Kolimigundla mandal of Kurnool district. Oct 8, 2001 The Vaikunta Samaradhana of Late Sri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy was held in Kurnool today. Thousands of supporters of Sri Kotla visited Kurnool. APSRTC has arranged special transport to the place. Sep 29, 2001 Sri Kotla laid to rest The Funeral of Sri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy was held at the banks of River Hundri in Kurnool District. Chief Minister of Karnataka S M Krishna, Senior Congress Members Sri N D Tiwari, Sri M Satyanarayana Rao, Sri YS Raja Sekhar Reddy, Sri N Janardhan Reddy, Sri Mallu Ravi, Ministers Dandu Sivarama Raju, Sri Mohan Reddy, Sri Ram Bhupal Choudary and others paid homage to Sri Kotla and were present at the Funeral place. Chief Minister Sri Chandra Babu Naidu said that the funeral place will be converted into a Memorial. The Police fired 21 times in Air as a honor to Sri Kotla. Sep 28, 2001 Hartal was observed in Kurnool district remembering Sri Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy. Sri Kotla was born, grown up, educated and an active politician from Kurnool.
