August 25, 2001 An APSRTC bus was looted by unknown dacoits near Chegonta in Medak district. Cash and Jewellery worth Rs. 1.5 Lakh was lost. August 13, 2001 Excise raides at Narayankhed Exercise Authorities raided many areas in Narayankhed of Medak district and destroyed Ganja Plantations. These plantations were grown in areas where there is no good route all through. August 9, 2001 Ganja plantations worth Rs. 5 Crores were seized by Excise authorities in Narayankhed of Medak District. July 7, 2001 Huge Dumps unearthedThe Medak Police have unearthed two huge dumps containing ammunition of the Jana Shaki Group Naxals. The dump contained 12 custom made weapons, 8 mm rifles, 3 springfiled rifles, 2 carbines, 1 sten gun among others.June 12, 2001 Four Naxals - two belonging to the PWG and two from Janashakto Group surrendered before the Medak Police. June 5, 2001 A Gang involved in printing and distribution of fake 100-Rupee Indian currency notes was arrested by the police in Sangareddy. June 2, 2001 TDP Party President of Medak District, Mr. B Balamandu was killed by Peoples War Group Naxals early this morning. It is believed that the Indupriya group of the PWG is behind this killing. Mr. Balamandu was in the PWG hit list and has escaped from attempts on his life twice. May 21,2001 The Medak Police arrested 30 Naxal belonging to the CPIM Janashakti Naxal group and recovered huge ammunition from them. Among those arrested were 3 district level members and 3 zonal members. Additional DGP Mr. Kumavat said that 11 weapons were recovered and that this is the biggest recovery and that 22 more weapons were seized from Hyderabad. He said that the Government will be considering on the ban of Janashakti Group. May 8, 2001 A Trainer Aircraft - Kiran 0774 crashed in the fields of Medak in the early hours of the day. The pilot escaped few seconds before the crash. May 3, 2001 Peoples War Group Naxals attacked a State Bank of India branch in Medak and took away Rs. 1.50 Lakhs.
