Sri Kondapalli Seetharamaiah - founder of People's War Group dies
Founder of the Peoples War Group and Communist Leader Sri. Kondapalli Seetharamaiah died of Parkinson's Disease in Vijayawada. He is 87 and was survived with a wife and two grand-daughters.

Vijayawada Police arrests Ms. Sunitha of Krushi Bank
The Anti Goonda Squad of the Vijayawada Police arrested Ms. Sunitha who is the sister of Venkateswara Rao of Krushi Bank. A reward of Rs. 5 lakh was announced by Government on her earlier. She is reported to be living in an Apartment in the city. She was later handed over to the CID. She however rejected that she has not attended for board of meetings of the Bank and htat she is not involved in transactions with the bank. However, the police say that her name was in bank records for taking a loan to a tune of huge amounts.

Minister for School Education Mr. Mandava Venkateswara Rao said Government will consider introduction of a period every week for teaching moral education to students. He took part in a meet organised by Andhra Pradesh Tutorial and Convents Association in Vijayawada. Ministers N Janardhana Reddy, N Narasimha Rao, Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao and others also took part in the meet.

Trains comes to a stand still at Vijayawada
Many trains were halted at Vijayawada for some time due to power distribution problem at the power grid. Tirupati-Howrah Express and many other express trains were blocked. Southern Railway was provided with power from South Central Railway. Power Supply to the Visakhapatnam - Vijayawada line was restored with the help of power from the Eastern Grid.

Agriculture Minister Mr. Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao said that the demolition of Babri Masjid is an 'unconstitutional act'. He spoke at the three day meetings that were held at Bhavanipuram in Vijayawada. He also took a copy of the Holy Quran from Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President, Mr. Moulana Mahammed Siraju Hasan.

Primary estimated loss due to recent rains put at Rs. 192 Crores
Agriculture Minister Mr. Vadde Sobhanadreswara Rao said that crops to a cost of Rs. 192 Crores were lost in the recent rains in Khammam, Krishna, Guntur, Nellore and Prakasam districts. He took part in a review meet on Janmabhoomi Program in Vijayawada.
