June 14, 2003 Govt. takes loan for Godavari Pushkarams The State Government's Endowments Department took a loan of Rs. 72 Crores from the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam for the Godavari Pushkaram works in Rajahmundry and other coastal districts of River Godavari. Finance Minister Mr. Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the Government will be paying Simple Interest for the same. The Minister said that the State Government has asked the Center for a grant of Rs. 100 Crores - Rs. 50 crores of which is to be taken as a loan.
