October 26, 2003 Union Ministers visited Nellore to take part in the inauguration of various development projects in Nellore. September 11, 2003 One person died in Nellore drinking spurious liquor. Ramanayya - a laborer bought brandy from a liquor shop with the money he earned from his day work. Police began investigating the case. All brandy shops in the region were closed for the day. August 18, 2003 2 elders were found murdered in Nellore. The reasons for their murders were unknown. Nellore SP visited the site and said that investigation will take place. May 30, 2003 Government sources say 25 people died due to heavy temparatures in the region on friday alone. Unofficial sources put the number at much higher number. May 23, 2003 Nellore District Collector released a set of posters and leaflets which explain about how to stop corruption and informing the Anti-Corruption Bureau when a Government servant asks or takes bribe.
