Telugu Language Day was observed. People in large numbers has organized demonstrated asking for the wide spread use of Telugu language. A demonstration in Kurnool organized by Telugu Basha Vikasa Udhyamam asked for wide use of language in Government offices.

2 dacoits killed in encounter
2 dacoits involved in various killings and dacoits in the states of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh were killed in an encounter near Kolimigundla police station limits of Kurnool. The dead were in the wanted list in both Anantapur and Kurnool police stations and were found when a search team was on the look out for them. The police were forced to shooting after they attacked with bombs.

NTR Telugu Desam Party's Maha Nadu began in Kurnool today. Party President Ms. Lakshmi Parvathi inaugurated the program. She said that the promotions and advertising made by Chandrababu Naidu yields nothing. Many resolutions on party were made during the program.

Kunrool District Congress Committee displayed their support to Dr. YSR's Prajaprasthanam by starting a Paada yaatra program in their district. The program is aimed at touring over 630 kms in various constituencies in the district and understanding the problems of the people.

Members of Podupu Lakshmi DWACRA Groups committees staged a dharna at Collector's Office in Kurnool asking revolving funds and marketing facilities to the groups. They asked for training programs and payment of salaries by Government.
