7 dead bodies from the KC Kanal in Nandyal of Kurnool when a van fell into the canal. 12 divers worked all night to recover the bodies. The Government announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 10,000 to the families of the dead.

Kurnool Police began celebrating the Police Commemoration Fortnight in a different manner. They made their way to the schools in the district and displayed various equipments such as Walkie Talkies, Rifles etc. that are used by the Police. They also warned about the dangers about using them.

1 person died when he fell down accidentally into the KC Canal when he got drowned in a procession of Ganesh Nimarjanam in Kurnool.

Government suspends 6 involved in Stationery Scam
The Government of Andhra Pradesh has issued suspension orders to 6 senior officers who were involved in the recently unearthed Stationery scam in the Panchayat's of Kurnool and Anantapur districts.

Minister Sri Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy said that the Government will hold an enquiry into illegal purchases made at the Kurnool Panchayat Raj where stationary worth over Rs. 2 Crores was purchased. He said that action will be taken on those were involved in the scandal. He also ruled out the involvement of an outsider in this issue.

Vigilance Dept. begins verification in Stationery scam
Sleuths of Vigilance Department are checking the additional stationery which was procured in Lakhs of rupees for the Panchayat Department in Kurnool District. They were making a count of the amount of additional station procured from the son-in-law of a Minister. Chief Vigilance Commissioner Mr. MA Karim was himself at the place and said that the report will be submitted in 48 hrs.
