7 naxals killed in encounter
7 Naxals including 2 women naxalas belonging to Janashakti-Veeranna Group were killed police encounter at Bandallabagu in Karimnagar. AK-47 and other ammunition were recovered from the spot. The naxals were believed to be demanding for money from contractors in the area when the police was informed of this and began combing operation.

CM inaugurates Neta Bazaar
Chief Minister Mr. N Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated Neta Bazaar in Karimnagar. He said that the Government will look into the problems of handloom workers and suggested the need for change in designs and setting up of more handloom shops. Women in large numbers took part in the program.

September 2, 2002
A total of 11 naxals including 7 from the Peoples War Group and 2 Praja Pratinidhis groups surrendered before the Karimnagar Superintendent today. Speaking at the Press, the Superintendent asked the PWG to see that they will not take minors into the group and that this is in accordance to International Human Rights Council.
