Police forces began search out for the body of the constable Mr. Chittibabu who was believed to have been killed by the People's War Group - CPI-ML group. The police forces are taking the help of Village Administrative Officers in G Madugula area near Paderu.

Naxal group that took over Mr. Chittibabu -a constable a the Anakapalle Police Station was believed to have been killed. This was confirmed by Andhra Orissa Boarder Special Zone Secretary Mr. Bala Krishna. It information was also been sent to some Press offices in Padru.

Surprise attack by PWG on Anakapalle and Chodavaram Police Stations
Extremists of the People's War Group CPI-ML Group, on Friday, made a sudden attack on the Police Stations of Anakapalle and Chodavaram which come under Visakhapatnam District. They destroyed the Police Records and took away ammunition from the Police Stations besides making the sub-treasury office hay way. Four cops were being held by the Extremists under hostage.

A Royal Bengal Tiger, Pushpa has died in the Rescue centre near Indira Gandhi Zoo Park in Visakhapatnam. Zoo Curator Pushpa said that the tiger which has been brought from a Circus in Bengal, has been suffering with serious illness for the past few days.

Mr. D. K. Singh has been appointed as the CMD in-charge of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited - Visakhapatnam Steel Plant. Mr. D. K. Singh is the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Bhilai Steel Plant. He has been made in-charge following the resignation of B.N. Singh till a full time CMD is appointed for Visakhapatnam.

Commissioner of Visakhapatnam Export Processing Zone Mrs. Ratna Prabha said that they have set a target of Rs. 1500 Crore worth exports for the year 2002-03. She said that VEPZ was given powers on certain matters and that this will allow it to help and support newly established industries in the Zone.

Union Minister for State for Road Transport and Highways Mr. BC Khandpuri performed the Bhoomi Pooja for up gradation works of Visakhapatnam Port Road. Speaking at the program, he said that Andhra Pradesh has the best facility connecting to the four metros under the Golden Quadrilateral connection. The Minster said that the linkage project costs the Central Government to a tune of Rs. 8 Crores per kilometer. The construction works of the Gas Authority of India Ltd between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad which spreads for over 600 kms was formally inaugurated with a bhoomi pooja by its Director, Mr. SP Rao. He said that study is on in regard to extending this line from near Vijayawada to Tirupati. The Cost of the project is put at Rs. 300 Crores and will be completed by August 2003.

Large ammunition unearthed in Anakapalle
Anakapalle Rural Police has unearthed huge quantity of unauthorized stored explosives and arrested two persons. As many as 149 gelatin sticks, 4499 detonators in 44 boxes, 18 bundles of fuse wire, 1 tonne of Ammonium Nitrate and were recovered from three different locations.
