July 31, 2002 3 persons including drivers of two lorries died on the spot in a major road accident in Nellore in which the lorries collided head on. July 20, 2002 6 people including Mr. Dinesh Patwal, his wife and children died in a car accident at Chennai - Calcutta National Highway near Nellore. They are on their way to Tirupati. May 31, 2002 The Urban Health Center at Nellore organized a Health awareness camp and explains on how to avoid AIDS to the residents of the district.
