Aug 30, 2002 A farmer - Mr. Vengattula Benkkanna (45) died when he was being interrogated at the Mudigonda village in Khammam district by Excise Police. The farmer along with 5 more were brought to the police station following a raid. The sub-inspector who led the police team was absconding.
