Now, 'touchscreen' interactive table takes orders, entertains diners

June 16, 2011 - London

You might have heard about touchscreen menus in restaurants, but how about a diner table that talks to you, takes your order and entertain you while the food is getting ready.

Now, this is the innovative way diners are being served in a new restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan, reports New Scientist.

Instead of having their orders taken traditionally by waiters or waitresses, customers at Mojo iCuisine can browse the various menus and order through their interactive dining table.

The menus are projected onto the tables from above, while sensors within the tables allow the diners to interact with it.

Once their meal is ordered they can also play around with it other ways, for example to change the "table cloth" design, play games or even pay the bill.
