London, March 4 : A Coventry University researcher has invented a dishwasher with a movable partition, the size of whose washing compartment can be changed to accommodate small or large loads.
Paul Frigout, the inventor of the new dishwasher, says that while it washes dishes in one side, the other side can be used to store clean dishes.
He says that the other side of the dishwasher can also be used for an alternate cycle of washing while the first section is still drying.
Frigout points out that a problem with conventional dishwashers is that people have to wait until the machine is full before switching it on, in order to save water, energy and detergent.
He further says that it may take several days for a conventional dishwasher to fill if it is in a single-person household, or one where people often eat out.
This can lead to hygiene problems and offensive smells, and to food drying onto dishes, which is then harder to remove, he adds.Paul believes that his new invention is perfect for the person living alone, reports New Scientist magazine.
