Men with a history of infertility are at an increased risk of developing testicular cancer, says a new study.
Washington, Feb 8 : Men with a history of infertility are at an increased risk of developing testicular cancer, says a new study.
The researchers analyzed the medical records of male partners among 51,000 couples and identified men of infertile couples not necessarily men with male factor infertility.
The findings revealed that men from infertile couples were 60 per cent more likely to develop cancer than other men. This risk was relatively constant across all age strata.
The authors concluded that men with a history of infertility have a markedly increased risk of subsequently developing testicular cancer.
The study was presented at 63rd Annual Meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
