Bhogapuram Greenfield Airport-HC clarifies that farmers can enjoy land till process ends

Justice Vilas Afzulpurkar of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday made it clear that the farmers whose lands were notified by the government to be acquired for airport at Bhogapuram can continue to enjoy till land acquiring process complete.

The counsel for the State Government told to Court that the proceedings to acquire for lands would take to three months and till then the activities of farmers would not be interfered with.

The High Court dealing with writ petitions filed by Datla Venkata Appala Prasad Raju and others who challenged the land acquisition process declined to stay the proceedings. The petitioners complained to the court that police were interfering with the possession of farmers and the judge granted time to file counter affidavit and said that the possession and enjoyment may not be interfered with.
