‘Withdraw Land Acquisition Notification’, tells Power Star Pawan Kalyan

August 23, 2015 - Hyderabad

Jana Sena chief and actor Pawan Kalyan on Sunday held discussions with the farmers of Undavalli, Penumaka, Yerrabalem, Bethampudi and neighbouring villages at Government Junior College here who were reluctant to part with their lands for capital construction at a time when the Government invokes of Land Acquisition Act.

Farmers of these villages have clarified that they were not willing to part with their lands. They expressed several apprehensions while parting with their lands under the land pooling system. Speaking to farmers, the actor said that ‘I am against protests and dharnas but if the government insists on land acquisition, then I am prepared for dharnas and indefinite strike.

Pawan Kalyan said that the government should constitute an expert committee from experience officers like Lok Satta chief Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan and give written assurances to farmers that their interests will be protected. He wanted that the State Government should act with more responsibility in this issue. He said that giving up lands is a big issue and questions their fate if TDP will not come into power in the next elections. He once again said that his party is supporting TDP but that does not mean I am a slave and will remain oblivious to farmers’ plight. I am not against capital construction or development but will stand by farmers, he reiterated.

YSRCP is not a rival party:

Pawan Kalyan said that he entered the politics under special circumstances. The unscientific bifurcation that pained him has driven him to politics. He wanted the issue be settled through dialogue. On YSRCP, he said that it is not a rival party for him and reiterated that all he wanted was the development of the State. ‘I am not an ally of any political party when people’s welfare is at stake’, he said.
