ANANTAPUR: No aspiration to become Chief Minister’, says Bala Krishna: Telugu Desam Party MLA from Hindupur Nandamuri Bala Krishna categorically denied of having any aspirations to become the Chief Minister. He was speaking after the swearing in function of the Anantapur District Libraries Association Chairman Gouse Mohiuddin on Wednesday. ‘We will finish the Handri Neeva Sujala Sravanthi Project and solve the problems of the district while helping the people of Chitoor’, he said.

KAKINADA: Congress Kisan Cell of AP opposes bauxite mining: The Congress Kisan Cell of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee has expressed apprehensions over the proposed bauxite mining in Visakhapatnam district. In a statement on Wednesday, the State convener Satti Krishna Chaitanya Reddy said that it was not correct on the part of the government to invite international firms into bauxite mining ventures. He said that the government should ensure the livelihood of tribals in the area should be protected.

HYDERABAD: Retirement age enhanced: The State Government has enhanced the retirement age of the employees of State Water Development Authority from the existing 58 years to 60 years.
• Krishna Kishore appointed as CEO of EDB: IRS Officer J.Krishna Kishore was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Economic Development Board and the Chief Secretary has issued orders to this effect.
• Syringe attack: On Tuesday afternoon, Ravinder Naik alias Shankar who lives at Gruhakalpa buildings fell on the road near his house claiming that he was attacked with a syringe by a stranger. This is the third such incident during the month. Police said that the victim claims that two persons caught him while another man administered an injection. He was shifted to hospital and kept under observation.

NELLORE: Krishna and Penna rivers will be linked: Minister for Agriculture Prathipati Pulla Rao on Wednesday dropped enough hits of the State Government’s intention to link Krishna and Penna river systems to help a vast majority of farmers in Nellore and surrounding region. He along with Minister for Information and Public Relations Palle Raghunath Reddy and R&B Minister Sidda Raghava Rao took part in the ‘Rythukosam Chandranna’ yatra on Wednesday.

RAJAHMUNDRY: 1200 MHO posts will be filled soon: The Commissioner of Horticulture Chiranjeevi Choudary said that 1200 posts of Multi purpose Horticulture Officers will be filled up soon in the horticulture department. He said that 80 posts have already been filled so far and another 12 posts will be filled up soon.

TIRUMALA: TTD takes over Chandragiri temple: The 16th century temple of Sri Kodandarama of Chandragiri town was taken over by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam on Wednesday. The TTD Trust Board Chairman Chadalawada Krishnamurty formalised the takeover at a glittering ceremony by announcing that the shrine will be developed on the lines of Bhadrachalam and Ayodhya.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Two boxers get cash awards: Two boxers from the district – K.Shyam Kumar and S.Marthamma received cash award from the State Government for winning gold and bronze medals respectively in the National Games-2015 organized in Kerala. Minister for Sports and Labour K.Atchannaidu presented a cheque of Rs.7 lakh to Shyam Kumar’s father as the boxer is attending the senior pre-Olympic National camp and a cheque of Rs.3 lakh to Marthamma on Wednesday.
• Final Phase of M.Tech admission: Andhra University Directorate of Admissions is conducting the second and final phase of counselling for admission into M.Tech. under sponsored seats category at its office at Vijayanagar Palace, Pedda Waltair form 10am on October 3 according to Director of Admissions.
• VATA seeks more amenities: The Visakha Air Travellers Association sought improvement of passenger amenities at the airport. The executive committee of VATA on Wednesday sought construction of parking bays to enable parking of flights so that some of the airline operators could schedule early morning flights form Visakhapatnam to various destinations. They also sought re-iNTRoduction of entry tickets for entry into the airport lounge what was discontinued post-Hudhud.
• Dr.G.Arjuna appointed as Deputy Superintendent of KGH: G.Arjuna, Professor of Surgery of Andhra Medical College and KGH was on Wednesday appointed as Deputy Superintendent of KGH. He was appointed in the place of P.V.Sudhakar who was appointed as Officer on Special Duty of VIMS a few days ago.
• AU bags five NSS awards: Andhra University won five State level NSS awards and the winners would receive them during a function being organized by the State NSS Cell of Higher Education Department of NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada on Thursday.
• AU Professor Prasad Reddy suspended ?: The Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao is reportedly instructed the authorities to take action against Andhra University Professor Prasad Reddy for his participation in Yuva Bheri programme for Special Status Category for the State which was attended by YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy.
• 400 acres of land for Logistic Park: The State Government has allotted 400 acres of land to Visakhapatnam Port Trust for establishing of Logistic Park in Anakapalle, Parawada and Munagapaka mandals. It may be recalled that the CMD of Visakhapatnam Port Trust has appealed the State Government of its intention to establish logistic park if lands are allotted to it. The Principal Secretary of Revenue JC Sharma on Wednesday issued orders.
