HYDERABAD: CHARGE SHEET FILED AGAINST REVANTH REDDY AND OTHERS: The Anti-Corruption Bureau has on Tuesday filed a charge sheet in a local court on Telangana Telugu Desam Party MLA A.REVANTH REDDy, Harry Sebastian and Rudra Uday Simha. They are accused in bribing Nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson to vote for TDP candidate in the MLC elections. The name of the fourth accused Jerusalem Mattaiah would likely to be included in the supplementary charge sheet as he has obtained an order of High Court staying his arrest.

APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR DEPD COURSES: Applications are invited for ‘PG Diploma in Electronic Product Design’ jointly conducted by CDAC and National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology. The term of the course is six months and the fee is fixed at Rs.46,000. There will be an exception of complete fee waiver for SC/ST students and the common entrance test will be held on August 16 and applications have to be submitted online through the website. www.esdmindia.in. and the classes will commence form September 7.

TELANANGA MEDICAL COUNSELLING FROM TODAY: The counselling for the students who took up EAMCET in Telangana state for Medical stream will begin from today and ends on August 6. The online counselling is being held with the coordination of NTR University of Health Sciences and the centres are Warangal, three centres in Hyderabad and one in Vijayawada. 50 per cent seats if 1,550 seats in MBBS and 606 seats in BDS in 15 medical colleges in Government and private colleges in A category will be filled up. The counselling centres of PGRR Distance Education Centre in OU area, Kakatiya University in Warangal, Dr.NTR University of Health Sciences in Vijayawada.

FORMER MP HARSHA KUMAR GETS BAIL: Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday granted bail to former Amalapuram MP Harsha Kumar with conditions of submitting of two sureties and self-surety of Rs.10,000. It may be recalled that Harsha Kumar was arrested when the fast unto death on July 10 created tension when was foiled by police on July 12. He opened fire in air of four rounds threatening of committing suicide if the fast was foiled by the police and later was arrested and the court remanded him 14 days custody.

RISHITESWARI SUICIDE-PROBE TO BEGIN FROM TODAY: The retired IAS officer Balasubramanyam Committee that was appointed to probe the circumstances that led to the suicide of B.Arch student of ANU Rishiteswari will begin from today for three days. The committee members Vice Chancellor Prof.Veeraiah of Nellore Vikrama Simhapuri University, Registrar of Padmavati Mahila University Vijayalakshmi and SV University Prof. Balakrishnanan Naidu will conduct an open inquiry.

VISAKHAPATNAM VDCA WEBSITE LAUNCHED: The District Collector N.Yuvaraj on Tuesday launched a website of Visakhapatnam District Association – vdcaonline.com. Association working president and MLA P.Vishnukumar Raju, vice presidents DS Varma and TSR Prasad, Secretary K.Parthasarathi along with office bearers were present. Varma said that the website would provide information about the schedule of league matches, scorecards and statistics and about teams, players, tournaments and details of VDCA Academy.

OPEN HEART SURGERIES SOON AT KGH: The open heart surgeries that were not being performed at the KGH will be resumed soon. Till recently, there was a proposal to allow cardiothoracic surgeons of Care Hospital to perform open heart surgeries at KGH cardiology wing which received strong opposition from all sections since it would pave way for privatization of KGH. Superintendent of the hospital M Madhusudana Babu said on Tuesday that an assistant professor of cardiothoracic surgery was posted to the hospital and it would be able to perform surgeries on its own and added that they are not going to take any service form corporate hospitals. Open heart surgeries were performed at KGH for seven years before the CT surgeon was transferred to the Kurnool general hospital two years ago.

WOMAN TESTS POSITIVE OF SWINE FLU: A swine flu case was detected in the city on Tuesday after a gap of three months on a pregnant woman from Maddilapalem. The patient is undergoing treatment at a private hospital and is on ventilator according to DMHS J.Sarojini. She was admitted to the hospital a four days ago and the swab test result was found positive. Since January a total of 46 swine flu positive cases were treated in the district.

CBI REGISTERS CASES AGAINST CCI OFFICIALS: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered three cases against officials of the Cotton Corporation of India, Guntur and officials of the Agricultural Marketing Committees of Guntur, Krishna, Chintalapudi, West Godavari, Kuknuru, Nandigama, Pedanandipadu and Myalavaram. A case was registered against B.Jeya Kumar, Branch Manager of CCI, Guntur, Rayapati Purnachandra Rao, cotton purchaser, CCI centre in charge of Guntur, Krosur and Kuknuru. The case was booked for procuring 11,75,243 quintals of cotton kappas from middlemen instead of cotton growers or farmers.

WI-FI SERVICES IN AUGUST IN VIJAYAWADA RLY.STATION: Railway Divisional Manager Ashok Kumar said that the Wi-Fi facility will be enabled at the Vijayawada Railway station by the end of August. Speaking to media, he said that free facility will be extended for half-an hour and any usage from there on will attract payment. He said that Hyderabad-New Delhi AP Express will be known as Telangana Express from November 15. He said that the Railways has netted Rs.36 crore revenue on account of Godavari Pushkarams.
