NTR Model Schools in all districts in four years
NTR Trust CEO Kondaiah said that NTR model schools will be established in all districts of Andhra Pradesh in the coming four years. Speaking to press, he said that the school that is being run under NTR Trust at Gandipeta has been developed into Junior College. He said that orientation calluses have been conducting for the girl students for Common Law ad-missions.

Jammers at EAMCET centres
KAKINADA: The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University- Kakinada is going to use Jabbers at all EAMCET centres as part of high-level surveillance on the students to prevent malpractice. The Convener Ch. Sai Babu said that 1,90,842 applications had been received and the last date is April 11. He said that applications could be submitted with a late fee of Rs.500 up to April 16 and with a late fee of Rs.1,000 up to April 22 and with Rs.5,000 up to May 2 and with a late fee of Rs.10,000 up to May 6, he said.
Fire accident –plea to minsters for ex-gratia The Minister for finance Yanamala Ramakrishnudu and Home Minister Nimmakayala China Rajappa on Monday visited the scene of the fire near Kumbhabhisekam temple. They interacted with the victims and promised them that the government would distribute ex-gratia to the victims. The victims suspected the involvement of the Kakinada Seaports Limited behind the fire as they were vehemently opposing the construction of the seventh berth.

Two SIMI suspects arrested
KURNOOL: The Police on Monday arrested two suspected SIMI activists near Sirivel in the district. Sources said that the gang was travelling from Chennai to Kurnool Police busted the gang following information of suspicious mobile calls and the arrested were shifted to Hyderabad for interrogation.


National meet on gastro endoscopy
The 16th National conference of the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India will be held at Hotel Novotel here from April 10 to 12. The conference, ‘ENDOCON 2015’ is being hosted by the department of Gastroenterology, Andhra Medical College and 13 intentional experts form USA, Hong Kong, Japan, UK, Italy and the Netherlands will participate. It is aimed to create awareness among practitioners about the new procedures in the field.

Western dances at Yoga Village becomes controversial
The Western dances being held at Yoga Village in Andhra University has become controversial with the Yoga PG students lodged a complaint with the AU Vice Chancellor GSN Raju. The yoga students had a heated arguments with the dancers and trainers who reportedly told them that they had permission. The dance classes have been going on for the last three days. The university authorities have compromised the situation. It may be recalled that such events in two years back have become controversial.

Venkaiah Naidu to participate in ‘Citizen Connect’
Union Minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu will participate in a programme ‘Citizen Connect’ being held by the Vizagapatam Chambers of Commerce at Hotel Four Points by Sheraton on Wednesday. Students, professors and commoners were involved in the discussions and the requests from the public will be presented before the Union Minister according to Vizagapatam Chamber of Commerce vice-president Monish Row.

VUDA Drama Festival from April 9 to 12
Visakha Music and Dance Academy will organize the 10th Regional Drama Festival-cum-Competition from April 9 to 12. The festival is being held in memory of renowned artiste AS Raja at Kalabharati Auditorium. The festival will be inaugurated by CSN Raju, Chairman of VMDA along with Chief Guest MT Krishnababu. The programme will start at 6.45 pm and two plays will be staged. People other than the invitees and members of VMDA can get entry tickets by paying a nominal fee of Rs.60 for four days or Rs.20 for a single day.

Travel Awards Function on April 16
The second edition of India Travel Awards-South will be hosted at Hotel Novotel on April 16. Members in the tourism industry will be honoured at the investiture ceremony being attended by many associated with tourism promotion. The awards are instituted by DDP Group in association with trade bodies like Travel Agents Association of India and Indian Association of Tour Operators. It is being supported by the Ministry of Tourism.

Vedic meet – 180 students attend
Nearly 180 students from various Gurukulams and Vedic Patasalas from Tirupati, Annavaram, Tuni, Srikakulam, Simhachalam, Bhadrachalam and Rajahmundry took part in the two day 16th Uttarandhra Veda Vidya Sammelanam at TTD Kalyana Mandapam on Monday. Sadguru Kandukuri Sivananda Murty, Chairman of the trust is expected to attend the valedictory programme on Tuesday.
