10,603 teacher posts to be filled up through DSC

AP School Education department has prepared plans to fill up 10,603 teachers’ posts to be filled up through DSC – 2014.

Keeping in view of the student-teacher ratio, there is a necessity of filling up 10,603 teaching posts taking into account of the vacant posts till May 31 this year. The department has also identified of excess of teachers to 15,760 and will be regularized.

The School Education Commissioner Usha Rani has taken up steps in this direction following directives of the State HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao that notification for DSC be released by September 5, the Teachers’ Day. Probably this DSC may be the highest one since the government has increased the retirement age to 60 years.

Sources said that out of 10,603 posts, School assistants are 1849, Language pundits -975, PETs-185, Secondary Grade teachers 7,594. Those who did completed D.Ed. have good openings in the current recruitment.
