Andhra Pradesh High Court quashes charges against IAS officer Ratna Prabha
June 19, 2014 - Hyderabad
Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday relieved IAS officer Ratna Prabha by quashing the charges framed by Central Bureau of Investigation in the illegal investments case of YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
It may be recalled that the investigation agency has charged Ratna Prabha of extending undue favour to Indu Tech.Pvt.Ltd., in her capacity as Secretary to the Information Technology and Communication department. She was charged under section 120(B), 409 and 420.
She approached the High Court challenging a CBI court that turned down her plea to quash the charges and contended that she did everything in tune with the instructions of the Government and Business Rules and the Secretariat Instruction.
High Court Justice V Suri Appa Rao ruled that the allegations against the petitioner were baseless and there was no prima facie case against her and accordingly she was relieved off.
