YSRCP seeks disqualification of SPY Reddy

The YSRCP on Thursday sought the disqualification of Nandyal MP SPY Reddy who recently joined the TDP.
A delegation of YSRCP MPs led by Parliamentary party leader M Rajamohan Reddy sought the disqualification under the 10th Schedule of the Constitution. He said that they met the Speaker and told her that SPY Reddy had voluntarily announced his decision to join TDP after winning on YSRCP. Rajamohan Reddy added that they submitted the newspaper clippings of his announcement in which he said that he would win again in fresh elections.
A letter that was given to the Speaker said that ' S.P.Y. Reddy’s action of joining the TD after being elected from the YSRC attracts the provisions of Clause 2 (1) (a) of the 10th Schedule to the Constitution of India and consequently he is liable to be disqualified as a Member of the Lok Sabha.
