Former Minister Vatti Vasant Kumar bids farewell to active politics

Speaking to media on Monday, Minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar clarified that he will not participate in active politics in protest against division of the State. He said that his action came in tune with his statement made to be away from politics in the event of division of State takes place.
Vatti Vasant Kumar is representing Unguturu Assembly Constituency, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh. He won on Congress ticket with a majority of 6459 votes against his nearest rival G Lakshmi Kantam of TDP in 2009 elections. He was elected to AP Assembly for the first time in 2004 elections and won in 2009 elections for the second term. He served as Minister for Rural Development in Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy cabinet and was made Minister of Tourism.
