July 10, 2014 - Hyderabad
Responding over the Union Budget 2014-15, Andhra Pradesh State Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu who is a part and parcel of Narendra Modi’s government said that it is a growth oriented laying stress on infrastructure.
Speaking to press on Thursday, he said that the budget is aimed with a long term planning for growth while attempts were made to reduce the financial deficiency. He said that the Union Minister Arun Jaitely has given much importance to infrastructure, urban development, rural development, ports among others. The allotment of Rs.7,060 crores for Smart Cities along with giving some concessions to tax payers is a right decision for the growth of the country.
Andhra Pradesh is in deep crisis:
Chandrababu Naidu said that only a token grant of Rs.1,140 crore was mentioned towards meeting the budget deficit of the State. He wanted the Centre to bridge the gap of revenue deficit by special grants. Naidu said that though there were some mentions in the budget, a lot more needed to be done.
Since the bifurcation of the State was done by the Government of India, it is the Union to cooperate and render equal justice to both the States of Andrha Pradesh and Telangana.
