Two tribal Universities to come up in Vizianagaram District

September 2, 2014 - Hyderabad

The State Government has identified Pachipenta and Gondapalle mandals in Vizianagaram district for setting up of Tribal University.

‘The HRD Ministry has been informed of this and site selection committee is expected to visit and finalize soon. Both the places have 500 acres of Government land for the establishment of Tribal Universities’, said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.

The Minister informed of this in Assembly in response to a question by YSRCP MLA Rajanna Dora in the question hour.

It may be recalled that the Vizianagaram district had been chosen for University as it had large concentration of tribal population and a backward region.
