Tollywood actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao is no more

Tollywood actor and actor of generations Akkineni Nageswara Rao (90) passed away at Care Hospital in Hyderabad at 2:45 am on Wednesday. His death leaves tremendous sorrow to the movie world. It may be recalled here that Nageswara Rao was suffering with cancer and as situation deteriorated at 1:30 am on Wednesday, he was shifted immediately to hospital. All the family members of Akkineni were with him at the time of his last breath.
Akkineni Nageswararao, during his lifetime acted in 256 movies and was honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke Award, Padma Vibushan and many other awards.

Akkineni Nageswara Rao was honored with several awards.He started his film career at the age of 13 years. He began movie career in 1940 with movie 'Dharmapatni'. He acted in 'Navaratrai movie' in which he played nine roles. Alternative name for Devadas is Nageswararao. 1971 Padmasri Award, 1982 Raghupati Venkaiah Naidu Award, 1988 Padma Bhushan. 1991 Dada Saheb Phalke Award, 1994 Life Time Achievement Award. He bagged NTR National Award in 1996. He is the only actor who was honoured with Padma Vibushan award.
VIPs and innumerable condolence pours in
Many VIPs queued in to have the last glimpse of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Tamil Naidu Governor K Rosaiah, Governor ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are many of those who conveyed condolences to the family members. Personalities from the entire movie, political and public express condolences to him. Speaker Nadendla Manohar, YS Vijayalakshmi, Harikrishna, Balakrishna paid tributes.
TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu after paying tributes to him said that the demise of Nageswara Rao is a great loss to the Telugu people. He said that the entire Telugu film world is in deep sorrow, he said. YSRCP honorary president YS Vijayamma along with party MLAs Sucharita, Shoba Nagi Reddy paid tributes to him at his Annapoona Studios.
Body of Akkineni will be brought at 9am to his Annapurna Studios said family members.
Tamil Nadu Governor K Rosaiah after paying tributes to Nageswara Rao said that one era had gone with the demise of Nageswara Rao, he said.
Lok Satta chief Dr. Jayaprakash Narayan paid tributes to departed actor and said that Nageswara Rao was not only a great actor but a great person.
Telugu cine industry observes bandh on Thursday
Telugu film industry will observe bandh on Thursday in a mark of respect to the actor Nageswara Rao who passed away on Wednesday wee hours. All theaters in the State will be closed, said Muralimohan.
Final rites will be conducted on Thursday at Yerragadda funeral grounds, according to the family members.
