Tanishq robbery case - Commissioner of Police confirms Kiran Kumar as culprit

Hyderabad City Police Commissioner confirmed that Kiran has committed the robbery. Speaking to media after watching the video footage, he said that the accused acted as a physically handicapped only to misguide the police. He said that after entering into the premises, he switched off the lights, he said.
Police recovers 15.97 kg. Jewellery
Anurag Sharma said that the police has recovered 15.97 kg of gold ornaments worth Rs.5.98 crore and said the value might not be Rs.23 crores as was told by the Tanishq management. Police Commissioner said that the burglary was committed only after the midnight of January 24 and the accused has taken all precautions and gives no clues to police. He said that the entire jewellery was kept at Rasoolpur and only the accused has sold only one ring, he said. Another accused Anand is yet to be traced. Police denies of any crime history of the accused. It may be recalled here Kiran Kumar reached a television channel's office late Sunday and informed the staff that he stole the gold ornaments from Tanishq showroom in Punjagutta.
Kiran Kumar said he drilled the hole in the rear wall of the shop located in the busy Punjagutta area in the heart of the city. He entered through the hole and broke open the locked table counters and looted the gold ornaments and stones. He said he was wearing a mask and hand gloves and had also covered his legs with polythene bags. Kiran also sprinkled chilli powder in the shop to avert the police dogs from catching any scent. Police are investigating.
