Tanishq jewellery heist case - Police arrest another accused

The second accused in the Tanishq jewellery heist case Gantipati Anand has surrendered to the police resulting the zeroing the case.
Anand who sought the help of a private TV channel, in the process on Tuesday night approached them resulting in surrendering himself before the Panjagutta police who arrested him. The police seized 720 grams of gold ornaments said West Zone DCP V Satyanarayana to media. The DCP said that there are differences of statement and would seek police custody petition before the court.
DCP says that the two accused surrendered before the police as they could not sell the stolen gold ornaments. He said that they tried to sell the ornaments with the help of a woman Padma who resides beside their residence. They even attempted to sell at a jewellery shop where they could not succeeded. She later came to know of the entire episode when she watched a TV wherein the episode was running but by the time they escaped. Due to the pressures of the police to Anand family members, he returned to Hyderabad from Guntur where he surrounded to police with the help of a private news channel staff. The accused said that he committed crime for surgical needs.
99.9 per cent recovered
DCP Satyanarayana said that 99.9 per cent of the stolen gold ornaments have been recovered from the accused. He said notice would be issued to the management of Tanishq jewellery for wrong information as only 15.57 kg gold ornaments were stolen while it said as that of 30 kgs.
