Tangirala Soumya is the candidate of Nandigama by poll

VIJAYAWADA:
Tangirala Soumya, daughter of late Tangirala Prabhakara Rao has been unanimously selected by TDP as the party candidate for Nandigama by election scheduled to be held on September 13.

The Irrigation Minister and Krishna District Party president Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that ‘we have unanimously decided at a meeting to select T Soumya as the candidate and would be conveyed to the party president Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Tangirala Soumya, a software engineer also campaigned for her father in the general elections and has been actively participating in the party activities.

It may be recalled that the schedule for by-polls have been announced by the Election Commission and the seat has fallen vacant following the death of Tangirala Prabhakara Rao due to cardiac arrest.

Urges unanimous election:
Devineni Umamaheswara Rao appealed all parties to support Soumya for her unanimous election and pointed out that it had been a tradition to unanimously elect the candidate if the contestant is a family member of the deceased.
