TDP seeks CBI inquiry into TTD's VIP passes

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Friday demanded an inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) into the issuance of passes by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) to the followers of Dawood Ibrahim and thousands of VIPs on the day of Vaikunta Ekadasi day.
It may be recalled that the ordinary devotes were put to severe hardship due to the throng of VIPs and VVIPs. The incident led to stage sit-in dharna and protests by devotees in front of the office of the Chairman of the TTD. Devasthanam officials later also filed cases against devotes and were forced to withdraw following hue and cry from several political parties and individuals of prominence.
Speaking at a press conference, TDP Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh, MLA Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu alleged that Ajay Navendra and 20 others were not only given passes for the darshan of the Lord but accorded royal treatment. They further alleged that they were provided six suites in the premier Sri Krishna Guest House.
Release list of names
They released a list of names those who were given passes at the cost of common devotees, Gali Mudduma Krishnama Naidu said that even the traditional rituals to the Lord Venkateswara were given away to facilitate the darshan of VIPs and VVIPs. MP Ramesh said that though only 150 VIPs including Ministers, MPs, MLAs and Judges were present at Tirumala, the number of passes issued were nearly 15,000.
