TDP-BJP alliance stops YSR Congress from coming to power

Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party alliance in Seemandhra was successfully able to take to the people of the misrule of Congress and also arresting the upsurge of YSR Congress Party. After sitting in opposition for 10 years, Telugu Desam Party has finally managed to come back to power in Andhra Pradesh.

Telugu Desam Party led by its chief Chandrababu Naidu came to power in Andhra Pradesh bagging 107 Assembly seats out of 175 member assembly. The party has limited its main political rival YSR Congress to 67. National party Congress failed miserably and did not even open account in Seemandhra. This is the first time the party has been decimated since the formation of Andhra Pradesh State.

Modi and Pawan Kalyan factor helps

BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan have helped put TDP on the winning front. The leaders campaigned vigorously in the last days of campaigning. These two factors have boosted the winning changes to the party. On the another hand the TDP chief Naidu could successfully able to take to the people of the misdeeds of the Congress and corruption charges on YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy.

May join NDA at Centre

Chandrababu Naidu did not rule out the possibility of joining NDA team at Centre. It may be recalled that the party in the past was not part of union cabinet earlier in Vajpayee led NDA government though it entered into an alliance. In the changed political scenario, Chandrababu Naidu in all possibility will join the NDA rule at the Centre. He said that the alliance during the present election is a pre-poll tie-up and that the part is part of NDA now.

Addressing a press conference after winning the elections on Friday, the TDP chief said that the party has kept in mind of national interests when it entered into alliance with the BJP. He reminded that he was the first to assert the the coalition would win 300 plus seats at Centre.

In response to a query whether he would press for speeding up of cases against YSRCP chief, Chandrababu said that the party would not adopt vindictive attitude against any individual or political party. He added that NDA coalition is set to come to power to root out corruption and provide a stable government.
