Supreme Court dismisses Ramoji Rao's plea seeking stay on High Court verdict

The Supreme Court while dismissed the plea of Ramoji Rao seeking a stay on the AP High Court directives to pay a monthly rent of Rs.17 lakhs per month and clear the dues of Rs.2.57 crore to the owner of the site Aditya Varma where the Eenadu houses before January 10. The court also ordered notices to Varma and directed him to file counter within six weeks. According to Varma, Ramoji Rao had taken 2.78 acres of land, buildings in 30,000 sft for a 33 year period on March, 30, 1974 and Ramoji Rao went to the court in the back drop of Varma refused to extend the lease agreement. Varma filed a petition in the RCC and the court directed Ramoji Rao to surrender the same and went on appeal in higher courts that lead to the present state, he said.
