Paper on Ethics will be in intermediate examinations
HYDERABAD: First year intermediate students will have an additional paper on ‘Ethics and Human Values’ form this current academic year. The Board of Intermediate in a release on Tuesday said that the students should qualify in Ethics and Human Values examination to obtain pass certificate. The books on Ethics and Human values are being brought out by the Board and are available in the market. The details on it can be had on www.bie.telangana.gov.in/bie.ap.gov.in.
25 Anna Canteens in the first phase
HYDERABAD: The Cabinet sub-committee on Anna Canteens have met on Tuesday and decided to establish 25 canteens in the first phase. They have decided that the five canteens will be in Ananthapuram, five in Tirupati, 10 in Guntur and 15 in Visakhapatnam. Orders have been issued to the District Collectors to allot them to voluntary organizations and wanted proposals from them.
Zero admissions in ten Engineering colleges
HYDERABAD: APSCHE Chairman L Venugopal Reddy said that zero admissions were recorded in ten Engineering Colleges in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States. He said that one hundred per cent admissions were recorded in Convener quota in 103 engineering Colleges. A decision on the conduct of second phase will be taken up after a legal opinion’, he said.
Fee payment date for NTSE examination extended
HYDERABAD: National Means cum Merit Scholarship fee payment date has been extended by September 6 according to statement on Tuesday by the Board. The statement said that the application forms and challan farms are available on the website and asked the candidates to submit the filled in application ot the respective District Educational Officer. The websites are www.bseap.org.
9 lakh Jan Dhan accounts in just a fortnight
HYDERABAD: The AP State Level Bankers Committee has announced on Tuesday that as many as 9.23 lakh bank accounts have been opened in just 15 days under the Prime Minister Jan Dhan Yojana scheme throughout the State. 11,353 camps have been conducted for this, they said. 6059 bank branches have been participated in campaigning the scheme and mega camps have been conducted in Visakhapatnam, Tirupati and Ananthapuram.
Loan Waiver is not applicable to those who repays loans before December, 2013
HYDERABAD:The Andhra Pradesh Government that announced the loan waiver scheme and under which it is being extended to those who repaid loans taken. However, the scheme is not applicable to those farmers who have repaid loans before December 31, 2013 but are eligible if they repaid loans after January 1, 2014.
Pattadhar pass books will be linked with Aadhaar number
HYDERABAD: The Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in a review meeting with the officials of Revenue department on Tuesday asked them to link Aadhaar number with pattadhar pass books. He directed them to issue e-pass books in place of pattadhar pass books.
Medical counselling in reservation category begins
VIJAYAWADA: The medical counselling in the purview of three universities in five online centres in reserved category began on Tuesday. A total of 944 candidates appeared for the counselling and 396 from JNTU, 113 from NTRUHS, Andhra Medical College 191, SVU 150, Kakatiya university 94 candidates have appeared and 326 candidates have taken seats while 592 candidates have opted for sliding. A total of 2,568 MBBS and 683 BDS seats have been filled up according to NTRUHS camp officer Dr.Muralimohana Rao. On Wednesday, the counselling will be conducted for the ranks 3001 to 6500.
Chief Minister to make announcement on State Capital on Thursday
TIRUMALA: The Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu will make an official announcement in the AP State Assembly on the State Capital. He said that there are no differences among the TDP leaders on the Capital issue. He said that there are 1700 audit objections in the expenditure of Rs.164 crore in TTD and some of them have to be investigated.
Final rites of Bapu conducted
CHENNAI: The final rites of legendary director Bapu held at Besant funeral grounds in Chennai. Innumerable fans of Bapu including political leaders, film personalities and people from all walks of life attended. It may be recalled that Bapu died on August 31.
Objections raised on Partuysh Sinha committee on IAS distribution
NEW DELHI: The Partuysh Singh Committee met in New Delhi and the Chief Secretaries of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State participated. They discussed on the objections raised by 50 IAS officers over their distribution and the committee will once again meet before a final call.
Two policemen injured in stone throwing
VIZIANAGARAM: Two policemen were injured as sugarcane farmers resorted to stone throwing at NCS Sugar Factory t Sitanagaram on Tuesday. The farmers alleged that the management owed them Rs.25 crore and not a rupee was paid by it. They said that they have resorted to agitation as the district officials turned a deaf ear to all their pleas. Police tried to broker pleace but they stood on their stand and when the latter did not relent, the farmers resorted to stone throwing.

Vacant seats to be filled up at Dravidian University
CHITOOR: Dravidian University will be conducting admissions for the vacant seats for this academic year. The last date for receipt of applications is September 9. Entrance examination would be conducted on the day of submission itself according to a release. The applications would be accepted till 10.30am and the timings of the entrance examination will be from 10.30am to 12.10pm.The process of admission for selected candidates will be held at 2pm on the same day, according to a release.
