Seemandhra Congress leaders to take up bus yatra

In the wake of more than half a dozen leaders from Congress switching over to other parties on Monday alone, Congress leaders have been forced to take up the first hand information on the prevailing political situation and instil confidence on the Congress leaders and cadre. The Seemandhra Congress leadership is planning to take up a week-long bus yatra with the intention to boost the morale among the party workers.
Many Congress MLAs and MLCs from Anantapur, Chittoor and West Godavari districts have shifted parties on Monday. A meeting was held at the residence of former Minister Vatti Vasant Kumar attended by APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, former PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, Campaign committee chairman and Union Minister K Chiranjeevi, Manifesto Committee chief Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and others. The leaders have unanimously decided to take up a bus yatra to instil self-confidence and arrest the switch overs of party leaders. Sources said that the decision was the follow up action of the direction given by AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh.

The leaders will flag off a bus yatra that would kick-start from Srikakulam district on March 21st by addressing a convention of workers and a meeting at Viziangaram
- March 21 - Bus yatra kicks off at Srikakulam, meeting in Vizianagaram
- March 22 - Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts
- March 23 - West Godavari and Krishna districts
- March 24 - Guntur and Prakasam
- March 25 - Nellore, Chittoor
- March 26 - Kadapa
- March 27 - Anantapur and Kurnool
