Revanth Reddy rebuts Chief Minister's claim
January 25, 2014 - Hyderabad
Participating in the discussion on the AP State Reorganization Bill 2013, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA A. Revanth Reddy refuted the claims of the Chief Minister point by point.
Revanth Reddy said that the Chief Minister is misleading the members. On the claim of the Chief Minister that not a single tonne of coal from Singareni Collieries was supplied to the projects in Seemandhra projects, he said that 30 lakh tonnes was supplied to Vijayawada thermal Power station every year. On the increase in number of agricultural pump-sets to 30 lakh in Telangana region since 1957, he said that the negligence of the region in irrigation projects led to the use of so many pump sets. Revanth Reddy said that the demand of separate Telangana came up only because of severe negligence on the development of the region. Referring to the Gentleman's agreement that the deputy Chief Minister from Telangana region must be appointed is too not honoured. He wanted the number of Assembly seats to be increased to 153 from 119 in Telangana and to 225 from 175 in Seemandhra.
