Rescue operations comes to an end at Trust Height building collapse

The rescue operations in the Trust Height building incident at Porur have come to an end on Friday.
Director, Public Health, Tamil Naidu Government Kulandaiswamy said that 61 persons were dead and 20 out of them are women. A total of 27 persons including 8 women were rescued and are being treated at hospitals. The recue team personnel could not find any survivor for the second consecutive day.
Odisha Minister visits:
Odisha Minister for Labour Prafulla Kumar Mallik visited the city and announced a relief of Rs.5 lakh each to the kin of the victims belonging to the State. Five persons from Odisha and four of them are women died in the incident.
One-man commission probes:
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha announced that one-man commission headed by former Justice R Regvhupathy will probe the circumstances that led to the collapse of the building at Porur on June 28. In a statement, the Chief Minister said that the Commission fill find out whose ignorant attitude resulted in such a mishap that left many workers dead and injured several. She said that the Commission will fix those responsible for it.

Deceased from Srikakulam district are identified as Meesala Bhavani, Meesala Srinu, Kongarapu Srinu (Hiramandala Mandal Gotta), Pysetti Jyothi (Gottalaksmipuram), Dasarai Ramu, Dasari Kalavati (Korama, Bhamini mandal), Amalpuram Ramesh, Amalapuram Rajesh, Kimidi Subba Rao (Kotturu mandal Irapadu), U Ravi (Water Tank colony, Palakonda), Duvvarapu Padma (Payakavalasa, Kotabommali), Appala Narsamma, Dukka Tavudu (LN Peta).
It may be recalled that a 11 story building, Trust Heights at Moulivakkam was collapsed on June 28 and the police arrested six persons including the Managing Director and senior engineers of Prime Sristi Housing Pvt. Ltd., who were directly involved in the construction of the building. Tamil Nadu Chief Minster Jayalalitha has announced an ex-gratia of Rs.2 lakhs to each of the families of the victims while the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nara Chandrababu Naidu announced ex-gratia of Rs.5 lakhs and Rs.50,000 to those injured.
