Purandeswari appointed convener of BJP Election Campaign Committee
March 22, 2014 - Hyderabad
Former Union Minister and current BJP leader Daggubati Purandeswari has been appointed convener of the party’s election campaign committee for Seemandhra.
BJP Seemandhra State president Kambhampati Haribabu’s announcement of appointing her made the rumors more strong of her contesting as MP from Vijayawada. The appointment as poll panel chief is seen more as conferring on her the responsibility to boost the party’s sagging fortunes in these parts of the State. She was rested with the job of her to convey the people of the BJP that it is the only party that can transform Seemandhra as a developed State after bifurcation.
BJP appointed 18 committees such as the election, election management and campaign committees and the first two being headed by Kambhampati Haribabu and Somu Veerraju receptively. These will draft the plan of action with single point agenda of securing large scale victory in the maximum number of Lok Sabha and Assembly seats in the region.
Election Campaign begins March 25
BJP Seemandhra president K Haribabu said that the BJP election campaign will begin from Visakhapatnam on March 25 with the slogan ‘Modi for Prime Minister and BJP for Seemandhra development’. Purandeswari, Krishnam Raju along with 20 senior leaders will participate. According to him, the schedule is that poll campaign in Viziangaram and Srikakulam districts on 26, East and West Godavari district on 27, Krishna and Guntur on 28, Kurnool and Ananthapurm on April 2 and Kadapa, Chittor on 3 and Nellore and Prakasam on 4.
