Thirtheen projects in Uttarandhra will be moderinzed at a cost of Rs.2,000 crore', says Minister Uma Maheswara Rao

Irrigation Minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao said that the Government would modernize 13 Irrigation projects in Uttarnadhra with at a cost of Rs.2,000 crores .
Speaking to media in Visakhapatnam, he said the projects worth over 107 crores were kept on pending by Congress government resulting in 40,000 cusec water is going waste into the sea. He said that a white paper will be release on June 14 on projects.
Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao said that he will be visiting Pulichentala on June 15 and inspect Polavaram on June 16. He said that steps would be taken to in Polavaram submerged villages. All efforts would be taken to safeguard the underground water storage levels.
Irrigation projects will be completed in fixed time
The Minister for Irrigation Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said on Friday that the projects would be taken up and completed within four of five years. He said that Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts alone Rs.107 crore sanctioned amount was not sent last year and the Rs.2,095 crores needed for completion of the 13 irrigation projects in Uttarandhra.
Devineni Umamaheswara Rao said that a co-ordination meeting with Irrigation Secretary, Engineer-in-Chief and Chief Engineers concerned would be held during the first session of the AP Assembly form June 19 to 24 to sort out problems.

The Rs.7,000 crore Uttarandhra Sujala Sravnthi was one of the projects linked to the Polavaram project and steps would be taken to complete the project. He said that it would irrigate 8 lakh acres in the three district.
