Power staff calls off strike following deal with management

The two day old strike by the Andhra Pradesh Electricity Employees had ended on Monday as the managements have agreed to most of the demands put forth by the striking employees.
The striking employees had day-long deliberations with the six power utilities on Monday, the later recommended to the government a fitment of 27.5 per cent pay kike and two increments for employees up to 15 years of service and three increments for those with more than 15 years of service.
27.5 per cent interim relief
The power utilities have agreed to extend interim relief of 27.5 per cent over basic pay with effect from April 1 this year. On the demand of hike on the wages of outsourced employees, they have been given assurance that it would be negotiated with them in due course and efforts would be made to send proposals to the government by end of May. However, an adhoc increase of ten per cent hike in basic wages would be given to them from April this after getting a clearance from the Government.
