One language and Two States in the offing?

Andhra Pradesh State was formed linguistic basis is now likely to be divided into two States with one language within hours to come on Tuesday.

With the Congress led UPA government is gearing itself to place the AP State Reorganization Bill 2013 (Telangana Formation) Bill in Lok Sabha on Tuesday at 12 noon by the Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. It is said that there will be a discussion on it between 12 noon to 4pm and followed by a voting.

Makes all out efforts

The Congress made all out efforts to convince the main Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its support for the passage of the Bill. It is very well known that it cannot go through without their support. Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and Rural Development Minster Jairam Ramesh het Sushma Swaraj, LK Advani, Arun Jaitley and M Venkaiah Naidu on Monday. In the meeting the Congress leaders were told to keep the House in order and wanted the Congress to address the concerns of Seemandhra people. Venkaiah Naidu responding to Sonia Gandhi plea whom he met in Parliament Central hall conveyed the same to her.

APNGOs stages dharna at Ram Leela Maidan

APNGOs Association that is championing the cause of united Andhra on Monday staged a dharna at Ram Leila Maidan in protest against the Bill. Addressing a well-attended gathering and people cutting across party lines, P Ashok Babu, president of APNGOs Association said that 'Whether the State will remain united or not will be known within a couple of days. It is the responsibility of the Seemandhra Ministers to stall the Bill', he said. He asked the BJP leadership to shed its silenced on the crucial issue that would adversely hit the prospects of crores of Telugu speaking people.

Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal addressing the meeting said that they suspended the Seemandhra MPs with a view to get the Bill passed without any interruption. He said that the internationalists had faced a lot of hardship to reach here as they were allotted only 7 trains out of 20 sought.

APNGOs Association leader dies

Ch Damodar Joshi, vice president of the APNGOs Association Nellore district wing died after he suffered a heart attack at Maha Dharna. His colleagues rushed him to a hospital but of no vain. They said that he was reportedly under deep depression following the latest developments.

YSRCP organizes dharna at Jantar Mantar

It may recalled that YSRCP the party was in the forefront of fighting for the united cause on Monday made its final attempt by organizing a Samaikyandhra Walk at Jantar Mantar. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had a given final call to the party cadre and gave a call to lay; seize Parliament. Police obstructed them at the Parliament Street where Jagan Reddy was court arrested and later released.
