'No memorial needed for washed away students', says Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister

The Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said on Tuesday that no memorial is needed to be constructed for the 24 students of VNR Vignan Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology of Hyderabad who were washed away on June 8 along with a tour operator after the officials of Larji dam released flood waters into Bea river without any warning.
Another dead body recovered
The search teams have retried another dead body of a student taking the number of those retrieved had gone to 18 and they are on the search for the rest of the bodies. The body was identified as Rithima.
The Himachal Pradesh High Court has directed the Government to pay an ex-gratia of Rs.5 lakhs to the kith of those students killed in the incident.
