Ninety seven first time MLAs enter Assembly

In the recently concluded elections to Andhra Pradesh State Assembly and Parliament, majority of them are first timers.

97 out of the 175 candidates are the first timers in the Assembly. After the bifurcation of the State, 55 per cent of the MLAs in the Assembly are first time candidates. Majority of the first timers are from Anantapur district with 11 new faces were elected. MLAs from West Godavari are nine while Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, Guntur, Nellore and Kurnool districts are represented with 8 candidates each. Seven candidates were elected from Krishna and Chittoor while six candidates from Srikakulam, Prakasam and Kadapa with the least from Viziangaram with five first times elected candidate.

As far as Lok Sabha is concerned, out of 25 candidates 18 new faces are entering into the Parliament means 72 per cent new faces.
