Deputy Chief Minister launches ‘Neeru-Chettu’ programme

The Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Nimmakayala Chinarajappa launched ‘Neeru-Chettu’ programme on Sunday by planting a sampling to mark the launching of the programme.
Speaking at the launching in ceremony, the Deputy Chief Minster said that the government was particular in implementing the programme effectively across the State. He said that the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched the programme in Nellore. He said that the government planned to plant 71,000 samplings in Peddapuram division in phases.
In Visakhapatnam, Environment and Forests Minister B Gopala Krishna Reddy taking part in the 65th ‘Vanamahotsavam’ programme at Vadlapudi in Gajuwaka Mandal on Sunday said that it is the endeavor of the Chief Minister to make the State as ‘Haritandrapradesh’ . The government has decided to plant 13 crore saplings in the next one year. He said that the technology would be included to implement the project and special committee would be set up to look after the greenery. The Minister for Panchayat Raj Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu said that water harvesting structures and plantation of saplings would be taken up with NREGS and founds to the tune of Rs.2 crore in the next year.
