Liquor banned at National Police Academy

Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel National Police Academy director Aruna M Bahuguna on Tuesday issued orders banning liquor on the premises.
The direction from the Director came following the drowning death of a IPS trainee officer Manu Mukt Manav.
According to sources, any officer or trainee violating the rule will be liable for stern action. She issued the orders following an internal report on the death of IPS trainee officer Manu Mukt Manav.
The ban orders will be applicable even during parties and other occasions. If any staff or trainee is found violating the orders, they will face the music’, said in a notice and it is equally applicable to higher official of the National Police Academy.
144 IPS trainees including 27 women officers are undergoing training at the National Police Academy. It may be recalled that Manu Mukt Manav, IPS trainee officer died on August 28 who was alleged intoxicated after drowned in a swimming pool after a party with his colleagues.
