Government decide 15 per cent seats for NRIs in SVIMS

The Andhra Pradesh State Government has decided to allocate 15 per cent seats in Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) at Tirupati for NRIs.

Chandrababu Naidu who had a meeting of a high level delegation of SVIMS has took a decision. Minister for Health Kamineni Srinivas, Principal Secretary (Health) LV Subramanyam, SVIMS Director B Vengamma, TTD EO MG Gopal were present in the meeting. .

The meeting has decided that SVIMS will have a 15 per cent non-local quota will be USD 20,000 and the remaining seats will be available to for local at a fee of Rs.60,000 per annum. .

The Chief Minister said that the university should hold classes through video conference and an exchange programmes should be introduced to facilitate visits of experts from medical collages around the world. Chandrababu Naidu said that he had plans for development of Tirupati into an educational, knowledge and religious tourism hub. .
