NIA files first charge sheet in Hyderabad twin blasts

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed its first charge sheet in the Hyderabad twin blasts that happened in February 2013. NIA has named top Indian Mujahideen operatives Yasin Bhatkal and Asadullah Akhtar in the chargesheet.
NIA alleged that the Indian Mujahideen had hatched a high-level conspiracy to create terror in the minds of the people to expand it outfit's activities.
It may be recalled that 18 persons were killed and 131 were seriously injured the deadly Dilsukhnagar blasts. The agency that filed the charge sheet before a special NIA court has produced evidence that they received financial held from abroad through hawala and other routes.
Test explosion conducted
The agency said that the accused had carried out a test explosion on a hillock near Abdullaurmet prior to Dilsukhnagar blast.
Yasin Bhatkal and Asadulla Akhtar were charged for murder and various other offences under the IPC and Explosives Substances Act and Unlawful activities (Prevention) Act. The agency examined a total of 440 witnesses and 251 documents and 300 material objects were seized as part of the investigation.
