Mumbai Police Commissioner address media on TCS Anuhya murder and rape case

Addressing a media conference on Monday, Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said that they have arrested a railway porter cum part-time cab driver Chandrabhan Sanap alias Chaukiya.

Ramesh Maria said that he was produced in the Court and was remanded to 15 days judicial custody. They have formed nine new teams during the last fifteen days to zero the case. The police had questioned nearly 2,500 people and studied footage from 36 CCTV and had gone through telephone records before he was arrested. The commissioner said that apart from the crime branch, teams of anti-robbery and anti-dacoity cells, nine new teams were formed in the last 15 days to crack the case. The accused has cases of mobile theft and bag lifting cases in many police stations.

It may be recalled here that the victim Easter Anuhya a TCS employee went on missing after arriving at the LTT railway station in Mumbai from her hometown on Jan 5. Her decomposed body was found in Kanjurmarg in Vikhroli Jan 16.
