Medical Council of India permits another 950 Medical seats’, announces Medical and Health Minister

AP Minister for Medical and Health Dr.Kamineni Srinivasa Rao announced that the Medical Council of India (MCI) has accorded permission for another 950 MBBS seats for the State.
Inaugurating the combined State 56th IMA conference at Vijayawada, Dr Kamineni Srinivasa Rao said that AIIMS will be established in between Vijayawada-Guntur and a super specialty hospital will come up at a cost of Rs.150 crore at Vijayawada and Ananthapur.
The Health Minister said that the cancer hospital at Chinakakani will be developed at a cost of Rs.120 crore and cancer hospitals will be established at Nellore and Kurnool. He announced that a super specialty hospital will be coming up at Visakhapatnam under Tata Memorial organization.
Deputy Chairman of AP State Legislative Council, Mandali Buddha Prasad addressing the conference said that the State had to be proud of Dr. Yellapragada Subba Rao and wanted the doctors to follow suit.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Telangana State T Rajaiah announced that the MCI has sanctioned 200 additional medical seats to Telangana State and was informed in a communication on Saturday. He said that 100 seats at RIMS, Nizamabad, Gandhi Medical College 50, Kakatiya medical college -50 seats. He said with these 200 seats, the total seats in Telangana State had gone to 850.
