  • TV artiste Kalyan Chakravarti commits suicide
    BHIMAVARAM: Small screen artiste Kalyan Chakravarti committed suicide in his native Bhimavaram in West Godavari district by hanging himself. Local says that he took the extreme step due to pressing financial problems. Kalyan Chakravarthi's father who retired as Tahsildar died two years back. Kalyan Chakravarti is a bachelor and local said that he too sold away the own house.
  • Telangana Congress leaders express faith on Sonia Gandhi's leadership
    HYDERABAD: Congress leaders from Telangana have expressed confidence and faith on AICC president Sonia Gandhi's leadership. The leaders met at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday to analyse the reasons for the defeat of the party in the recently concluded general elections. A single line motion was moved by former Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha which was supported by Congress leaders present. It may be recalled that Congress party has won only 21 seats in Telangana.
  • Sivadhar Reddy appointed as Additional DG (Intelligence)
    Director General of Police office on Tuesday issued transfer orders to the Visakhapatnam City Police Commissioner Sivadhar Reddy and posting him as Additional Director General of Intelligence. The Visakhapatnam range DIG Umapathi has been asked to take up additional charge of the Commissioner of Police. The police officer who belongs to Telangana may likely be given posting as intelligence chief.
  • TPCC recommends expulsion of Palvai Goverdhan Reddy
    HDYERABAD: The Telangana Congress disciplinary committee has urged the party high command to expel the former MP Palvai Goverdhan Reddy from the party for his criticism on the TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaih and party general secretary Digvijay Singh. The disciplinary committee headed by M Kondanda Reddy met at Gandhi Bhavan and recommended the expulsion of Goverdhan Reddy.
  • Police arrests 64 EFLU students for staging dharna
    HYDERABAD: Police arrested 64 students of English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) on Monday when they tried to stage dharna to protest against the rustication of three students from the university a few weeks ago. Students were taken into custody when they tried to storm into Vice Chancellor's chamber. It is said that they have decided to meet the Governor for his intervention while the University authorities in a release said that they are open for a dialogue.

    German car major Audi its partner in the State, Audi Hyderabad on Monday said that it would expand its base by opening a showroom at Vijayawada in the next one to one and half years. Audi Hyderabad Managing Director Rajiv AM.Sanghvi said that 'in the three months since we have opened a sales and service establishment in Visakhapatnam, we have managed a 50 market share of all luxury cars sold in the region.   • CPI state secretary regrets for his comments
    HYDERABAD: The CPI State secretary K Narayana has regretted over his comments against its Telangana counterpart Veerabhadram and said that he is withdrawing them to ensure that no loss to the unity is done to the Left parties. In a letter to CPI(M) politburo member BV Raghavulu, he said that he was regretting the comments which could not be proved and explained that the alliance with the YSRCP in Khammam had given scope for misconceptions and would not have faulted the alliance had the CPI(M) entered into an understanding with the YSRCP either in Andhra Pradesh or in Telangana.

The programme will have in six disciplines in Chemical, Civil, Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical, Metallurgical and Material Engineering. It will have a total of 3,000 seats across its three campuses at Basara, Nuzvid and Idupulapaya, said Vice Chancellor RV Raj Kumar.

    HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi MLA KT Rama Rao, Etela Rajender, T Padma Rao and Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Monday met Majilis-e-Ittehadul Muslimen leaders Owaisi brothers and expressed solidarity with them. The MIM leaders offered their party's support to the TRS government.
